Sr. Structural Steel Project Manager - $110K
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Project Manager to lead and manage structural steel construction projects from inception through successful completion. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and on-site execution. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of structural steel systems, strong project management acumen, and a proactive approach to ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets in alignment with contractual obligations and customer expectations.
Manage day-to-day operations across multiple structural steel projects, ensuring on-time delivery, cost control, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Lead coordination efforts between internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, general contractors, engineers, and clients.
Oversee structural steel fabrication and erection processes to ensure adherence to engineering specifications, project drawings, and AISC standards.
Monitor project milestones and proactively address potential changes in scope, schedule, or budget to mitigate risk.
Facilitate project meetings and maintain ongoing communication with key stakeholders including architects, developers, and construction managers.
Ensure all necessary documentation—such as RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress reports—is submitted and tracked accurately.
Conduct site visits and inspections to evaluate progress, quality, and safety compliance.
Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Manage project close-out processes, including final walkthroughs, punch lists, and client handover.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 15 years of experience managing structural steel fabrication and erection projects.
Strong working knowledge of structural steel systems, shop drawings, and industry codes and standards; AISC certification knowledge is a plus.
Proficiency in project management and design tools such as Tekla, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and MS Project.
Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively across multiple concurrent projects.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities with a professional approach to client and vendor interaction.
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
OSHA 30-hour certification and other relevant safety training a plus.
