Position : Marine-based Electronics Technician (includes installation and repairs)

 Primary Activities and Responsibilities:

Installation, troubleshooting and repair of marine electronics on low voltage electrical systems, including communications systems, satellite radio, television systems and associated wiring to specific industry standards.

Test repaired, newly installed, or updated equipment including testing circuits and components to isolate source of malfunctions and to ensure that it functions properly and conforms to specifications, using test equipment and observation.

Install, assemble, inspect, service and repair communication equipment such as data and telephone communication, as well as cable television, internet by wiring, switching equipment, wiring frames, power apparatus, computer systems, and networks on customers property.

Repair or replace faulty electrical equipment or electronic systems, such as defective and damaged wires, switching system components, and associated equipment which may require using wire-wrap guns or soldering irons to connect wires to terminals.

Test communications electrical circuits or components equipment to ensure proper functioning.

Climb equipment or structures to access work areas.

Run wiring to connect equipment.

Inspect electronic equipment, instruments, products, or systems to ensure conformance to specifications, safety standards,

Install, adjust, and operate electronic equipment to record, edit, and receive radio and television programs

Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, set up functions, enter data, or process information.

Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Installation and set up of video cameras, audio visual equipment, stereos or related equipment.

Minimum Job Qualifications:High School graduate or equivalencyPreferred Thorough understanding of electronic systems and technically savvy.

Valid FL drivers license with employer acceptable driving record

Able to perform physical duties and do heavy lifting (Could be lifting 40 lbs throughout the day).

Have experience in the use of small hand tools and various electronic test equipment.

Required small hand tools


Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above qualifications:Associates degree in electronics or electrical engineering

1-3 years of experience with telecommunications equipment

1-3 years experience with wiring components

Electronic test equipment.

NMEA MEI certificate

Use of a Table saw or more technical tools a plus.

Military service a plus

Pay and Benefits:

Hourly wage appropriate for experience and training.

Paid Holidays after 90 day trial period.

Paid vacation after one (1) years continuous employment.

Work hours and days: 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday-Friday.
