Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Monitors and maintains proper irrigation for the community grounds to ensure total community turf, shrub and flower coverage.

Job Tasks/Duties

• Maintains all aspects of the irrigation system.

 Performs wet checks to make sure irrigation of plants are being covered.

 Repairs sprinkler and irrigation heads/pipes as needed.

 Assists in locating water services to homes as needed.

 Assists in potable water service repairs as needed.

 Assists in drainage repairs as needed.

• Performs repairs and preventive maintenance on all irrigation equipment.

 Operates multizone irrigation system.

• Ensures total compliance to safety procedures in accordance with club, state and federal regulations.

• Maintains direct communication with Assistant Community Maintenance Supervisor at all times.

• Maintains records on all equipment relating to the irrigation system.

• Maintains inventory of parts needed for irrigation equipment.

• Controls expenses associated with irrigation equipment and activities.

• Performs other assigned tasks as requested from the manager and/or management.

• Monday through Friday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm; an occasional Saturday may be required if a project runs over.

• Performs other work duties and special projects as assigned by Supervisor/General Manager.

Education and/or Experience

High School Graduate or equivalent, prior landscape or golf course irrigation experience of 1 to 3 years.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.

• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.

• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

• Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.

• Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling.

• Frequent repetitive motions.

• Continuous standing and walking.

• May need to use some protective equipment, such as a respirator, gloves, earplugs, eye guards/visors, boots and hat.

Supervises: None

Classification: Non-Exempt/Hourly Starting at $20 p/hr
